Bodega Matsu, itself a Japanese word meaning "to wait", specialises in sustainable and environmentally-friendly methods of small-scale wine production. The brain child of Jose Miguel and Raul Acha Arambarri, this up and coming winery is one to watch out for.
El Recio means "the tough guy" and represents the older brother in this bodegas wine family. Manually harvested at the beginning of October and aged for 14 months in french oak barrels, this wine packs a punch. Aromas of chocolate, coffee bean, dark fruits and vanilla pod are supported by a smooth, weighty body and silky tanins. A fantastic wine to accompany char-grilled red meat or strong cheese.
